Licensure Examination for Teachers 2022

Last year, the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) had made a directive to continue a credible and reliable licensure examination. Despite the health protocols and the possibility of Covid-19 infection, the commission decided to administer the exam with strict protocols from the IATF. A limited number of examinations were conducted nationwide, prioritizing the necessity to strengthen the health care system and to augment the shortage of healthcare professionals in response to the Covid-19 crises that devastated the Philippines Health care system.

Despite the government restrictions and the continuous declaration of extended community quarantine to stop the spread of the virus, the plan to lift the temporary suspension finally realize when the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) eventually approve the proposal submitted by the Commission to lift the temporary suspension. The demand of new Health professionals as well as the stipulation of the IATF were met by the Professional Regulatory Commission proposal. it lead to the issuance of IATF-MEID Resolution No. 95 (S2021), thus enacting the proposal of the Commission to resume the examination.  

There were about 61 licensure examinations conducted across the various fields and expertise in 2021 despite of the threat of the virus and the concern of health experts, around 143,680 examinees went to their designated test centers. And on that year, there are about 69,312 newly ordained professionals or 48.25% of the examinees passed the 2021 licensure examination. 

Even though  the Professional Regulatory Commission prioritize the health care sector to fight the spread of the infection, the licensure examination for teachers still administered on September with limited number of examinees for elementary and secondary level. The Licensure Examination for teachers was participated by 8,726 elementary and 17,863 secondary teachers on September 26, simultaneously.  Both has a satisfactory passing rate of more than half of the total number of participants, despite the economic uncertainty and mental health problem every one faces because of the effects of the Pandemic that started in 2020.

Because of the limited number of teachers who participated in the 2021 licensure examination and the 1 year  suspension because of the Covid-19 infection, it create a backlog of pending examinees. The number will spontaneously increases if the administration of the licensure exam is once a year. To lessen the growing number of applicants for license, the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) had announced that this year, the licensure examination for teachers will be held on the following date;

MARCH 27

JUNE 26 

OCT 02 (Sept Batch Rescheduled on the Specified Date)
